California State Fire Marshal Open Water Rescuer certification, heavy-water training, and certified lifeguard services. Built around your department, your coastline, and your protocols.
Didactic training and certification per the California State Fire Marshal's Office, delivered by instructors with decades of experience teaching in the public and private sectors. We place a premium on developing the proper mindset of an ocean rescue swimmer, and we maximize water time.
A comprehensive three-day certification course, tailored to your department's SOGs, SOPs, equipment and radio procedures. Scheduled reliably, regardless of surf.
A full day in big winter surf for personnel who already hold the Basic certification. No classroom. All ocean, all day, with a 1:8 rescue safety staff.
Certified lifeguards for private events, pool parties, corporate gatherings and ocean events. Professional water watch with a clear safety briefing before anyone gets in.
"Our goal is to never show up to another agency with the intention of 'we're here and this is how it's done.'"
We're dealing with the ocean and her many moods, and she always has the final say. No two agencies work the same water, and nobody knows your jurisdiction like the people who patrol it. We bring decades of ocean rescue instruction and a proven State Fire Marshal curriculum. You bring your coastline, your personnel, your SOGs and SOPs. The strongest course comes from putting the two together.
Instead, we work with you to develop the course within your area of influence, using your equipment, tactics and strategies to accomplish your mission safely. You essentially build your own class with us. We administer it and make sure every box the State wants is checked along the way.

Three days. State Fire Marshal certification. The whole coastline from Ventura Pier to Point Mugu as the classroom.
This is the course that builds a department's foundational ocean rescue certification from the ground up. It meets and exceeds the USLA curriculum, it can be scheduled on a fixed timeline regardless of surf conditions, and it is tailored to your operational needs.

Rock entries, surf, rips and cold water. We use the entire Ventura County coastline so your personnel train in the conditions they'll actually work in.
